Purchase AppleCare+ with your new iPad. Or buy it within 60 days of your iPad purchase:

[2] Your AppleCare+ Hardware Coverage starts from the date you purchase AppleCare+. This means that if you purchase AppleCare+ up to 60 days after you purchase your iPad, you will only receive AppleCare+ Hardware Coverage from that date. Your Technical Support Coverage starts on expiry of your 90 days of complimentary technical support cover provided by Apple, which starts on the date you purchase your iPad.
[3] Coverage is available only for iPad, its original included accessories, one compatible Apple Pencil and one compatible Apple-branded iPad keyboard used with your iPad for protection against (i) batteries that retain less than 80% of their original capacity, and (ii) unlimited incidents of accidental damage, each subject to an excess fee. For all 11-inch iPad Pro (M4), 13-inch iPad Pro (M4), 11-inch iPad Air (M2) and 13-inch iPad Air (M2) models, the excess fee is £25 for screen repair and £79 for all other accidental damage. The excess fee for accidental damage to all other iPad models is £39. The screen repair excess fee is only available on 11‑inch iPad Pro (M4), 13‑inch iPad Pro (M4), 11‑inch iPad Air (M2) and 13‑inch iPad Air (M2) models, and when there is no other damage present. The excess fee for Apple Pencil or Apple-branded iPad keyboard is £25. Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements.
